Some came from a few miles down the road and others from a few thousand miles away. They came to visit and reminisce with former classmates and remain updated on the school they have come to love.
Still others came to visit with their sons and daughters, or grandsons and granddaughters, who are currently enjoying their Keystone experience.
No matter who they were, or where they came from, they all had one thing in common: sharing the joy and smiles that accompany every Keystone Homecoming and Family Weekend.
鈥淚 love coming back to campus and visiting with classmates and learning more about the College and seeing how it鈥檚 thriving,鈥 said Patricia Babiasz, 鈥60, who journeyed to Keystone from Saratoga, Calif. with her husband, Joseph Babiasz, 鈥56. Because the couple met during their days on campus, Homecoming always holds a special meaning.
鈥淲e see people we went to school with and we reminisce with them. The more we talk, the more we remember, and we continue to talk and joke with each other. It鈥檚 really a wonderful time,鈥 Joseph said.
For Joe Orokos 鈥81 and his wife, Debbie, from South Brunswick, N.J., the weekend is extra special because their son, Joseph, Jr., is a sophomore at Keystone.
鈥淚 absolutely loved it here,鈥 Joe, Sr. said. 鈥淥ther than getting married and having kids, my years at Keystone were the happiest of my life. Now, I get to share those memories with my son, who is having his own experiences here.鈥
鈥淚t鈥檚 pretty cool,鈥 added Joe, Jr. 鈥淚 like telling my dad about what classes I鈥檓 taking and he tells me where on campus he used to go and what dorms he used to live in and we trade stories.鈥
But not everyone on campus Saturday was an alum. For example, Mary Wilson drove from Virginia Beach, Va. to see here granddaughter, Taylor Beatty, compete for the Giants鈥 women鈥檚 volleyball team.
鈥淚 love watching my granddaughter play. That鈥檚 my main reason for coming but Keystone is a really nice campus and the weekend is great. There鈥檚 something for everyone. I especially love the glassblowing demonstrations.鈥
By the time the sun began to set and the festivities came to a close, most everyone had the same final thought: 鈥淲e can鈥檛 wait to come back again next year.鈥
