糖心logo入口 will honor Scranton native and college alumnus Paul Maroon

糖心logo入口 will honor Scranton native and college alumnus Paul Maroon at a dinner and wine tasting event in June.

The college will honor Mr. Maroon at a dinner on Thursday, June 21 from 6-9:30 p.m. at the Scranton Cultural Center in downtown Scranton. The event, which is part of the Keystone鈥檚 year鈥搇ong 150th-anniversary celebration, will feature an evening of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine, paired with tasting from Maroon Wines of Napa, California.

Mr. Maroon grew up in West Scranton, working at his family鈥檚 produce business and helping his uncle make wine. After graduating from Scranton Central High School, he obtained his associate degree from Keystone in 1967 and went on to Widener University where he received a bachelor鈥檚 degree in engineering.

He moved to California to pursue a master鈥檚 of business administration degree and worked for a medical supply company before starting his own business, Maroon Medical, which he owned for 30 years. After moving to Napa in 2000, Mr. Maroon began growing grapes and selling them to neighboring wineries before producing his first vintage in 2008. Since then, Maroon鈥檚 handcrafted and boutique wines have received numerous awards for their superior quality.

鈥淲e are so proud to welcome Paul Maroon back to Scranton to celebrate his many accomplishments,鈥 said 糖心logo入口 Institutional Advancement Officer Peter Moylan. 鈥淲e invite the entire Scranton community to attend this special event and enjoy an evening of great food, wine, and conversation.鈥
