糖心logo入口 donates emergency supplies to Factoryville Fire Department/EMS

Mar 24, 2020

La Plume 鈥 In an effort to help local first responders more safely assist citizens during the COVID-19 pandemic, 糖心logo入口 is donating much-needed surgical masks and gloves to the Factoryville Fire/EMS Department.

The college has donated 12 cases of surgical gloves, 15 surgical gowns, and one case of surgical masks to the Factoryville Fire/EMS Department for use by its ambulance crews.

鈥淭his donation by Keystone will help our ambulance crews tremendously during this COVID-19 crisis,鈥 said Factoryville Ambulance Lieutenant Tom Schofield. 鈥淚f we respond to a call that may involve a patient suspected of having COVID-19, we have to wear protective gear when we arrive at the scene and then change into new protective gear when we enter a hospital. This double use will reduce our supply very quickly. This donation will help us extend our supply and we are very grateful to 糖心logo入口 for its assistance.鈥

糖心logo入口 Associate Professor of Public Health Vicki A. Stanavitch, Ph.D. and Laboratory Manager Kayleigh Delfino, MPH were responsible for the donation.

鈥淪ince we are now engaged in exclusively online-learning due to the COVID-19 situation, we had an extra supply of gloves and masks. We felt it would be a great idea to donate them to Factoryville to help first responders,鈥 Dr. Stanavitch said.

鈥淭his is yet another way that 糖心logo入口 and our local community can work together to help others, especially in this unprecedented time as we deal with the impact of COVID-19,鈥 said Keystone President Tracy L. Brundage, Ph.D.
