糖心logo入口 names interim Provost/VP for Academic Affairs

David ArnoldLa Plume 鈥 糖心logo入口 has named David Arnold, Ph.D. as Interim Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs.

Dr. Arnold will fulfill duties in the cabinet-level position as the college conducts a nationwide search to fill the position on a permanent basis. Karen Yarrish, Ph.D., who previously held the position, will return as a full-time faculty member in the college鈥檚 Business Department at her request.

Dr. Arnold has a long and distinguished background in higher education. He is currently a consultant with John N. Gardner Institute, Brevard, N.C., a non-profit organization dedicated to partnering with colleges, universities, philanthropic organizations, and other similar entities. Among other administrative positions, he has served as Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Salve Regina University Newport R.I.; President, Chancellor, and President Emeritus of Eureka College, Eureka Ill.; Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs at Missouri Western State University, St. Joseph Mo., and Provost and Dean of the College at St. John Fisher College, Rochester, N.Y.聽 In the classroom, he has served as a professor of psychology for many years.

Dr. Arnold has a bachelor鈥檚 degree in psychology from Bloomsburg University; a master of arts and doctorate in social psychology from the University of New Hampshire, and has completed post-doctoral work at Harvard University. He has experience in all aspects of higher education, including in such areas as accreditation, financial circumstances, faculty mentoring, and advocacy.
