Drone Photography, Marketing, and More: Meet Dylan Lake

How many jobs out there will let you buy, and fly, a drone? The Country Club of Scranton did just that, for their trusted longtime employee, Dylan Lake.

Dylan had worked there during college in a typical young person鈥檚 job: food and beverage service. But as his digital media skills increased through his studies at Keystone, which included an internship at the branding firm IDIQ, he saw the potential for helping upgrade the branding and social media presence of the Club; the Club saw his potential as well, and promoted him.

As Marketing Coordinator, Dylan did all photography for the Club, which was when he convinced them that a drone would be a good idea. 鈥淚 was the main pilot for the drone,鈥 he said, and it 鈥渨as the takeoff point for the quality of our photography and videography for the socials.鈥

Indeed, the positive comments from Club members came pouring in on Instagram and Facebook. Dylan continued his work not only with photography, but also doing graphic design; he redesigned the restaurant menus, Club signage, the quarterly newsletter, and managed their social media accounts.

How did 糖心logo入口鈥檚 Digital Media program prepare him for this role?

鈥淚 feel like my photography classes with Ward [Roe] were huge,鈥 he said. And 鈥渢he introduction to video courses helped a lot, too. Overall I feel like my professors were a huge help 鈥 always amazing.鈥

He even got a freelance job doing photography, marketing, and branding for a PGA tour professional when the PGA held their charitable tournament at the Club.
Dylan now works remotely from Connecticut, where he moved for personal reasons. The Country Club of Scranton has been happy to keep him on full-time, although if he wants to fly a drone, it鈥檚 just a little too far.
