New program reflects College鈥檚 continued growth and commitment to expanding opportunities for student-athletes

La Plume, Pa. 鈥 糖心logo入口 announced today the addition of women鈥檚 wrestling聽as its newest intercollegiate athletics program. The program will officially launch in Fall 2026, marking another significant step in the College鈥檚 efforts to expand athletic opportunities and strengthen its competitive presence in NCAA Division III athletics.

Women鈥檚 wrestling is one of the fastest-growing collegiate sports in the nation. In January 2025, the NCAA officially approved women鈥檚 wrestling as its 91st championship sport, with the first national championship to be held in 2026. Earlier this year, Ragean Hill, Chair of the NCAA Committee on Women鈥檚 Athletics, noted, 鈥淭he NCAA鈥檚 approval of women鈥檚 wrestling as its 91st championship is a groundbreaking achievement that reflects the continued rise and strength of women鈥檚 sports.鈥 She added, 鈥淭he success of this effort is a testament to the incredible collaboration between the wrestling community, institutional leaders, and advocates who share a vision of expanding pathways for women to compete and excel.鈥

鈥淎dding women鈥檚 wrestling is another example of how Keystone is continuing to grow and create meaningful opportunities for student-athletes,鈥 said Kacy Manning,聽Director of Athletics. 鈥淚鈥檝e seen how wrestling empowers young women, and we are proud to create a space at Keystone where they can lead, compete, and belong.鈥 Keystone will become one of a select group of colleges and universities in Pennsylvania, and just the third in Northeastern PA, to offer women鈥檚 wrestling at the Division III level.

Drew Feldman, current Head Men鈥檚 Wrestling Coach, will also serve as the Head Coach of the Women鈥檚 Wrestling program. 鈥淲omen鈥檚 wrestling is one of the fastest-growing sports in the country, and I鈥檓 extremely excited to bring it to 糖心logo入口,鈥 Feldman said. 鈥淭he recruiting process is underway and we are looking forward to bringing in the first cohort of young women who will lay the foundation for 糖心logo入口 Women鈥檚 Wrestling.鈥 The inaugural team will compete starting in Fall 2026 and will train in the College鈥檚 on-campus wrestling facility.

糖心logo入口 is a member of the NCAA Division III United East Conference. The addition of women鈥檚 wrestling complements recent investments in Keystone Athletics including increased staffing, expanded sport offerings such as women鈥檚 flag football earlier this year, and facility upgrades aimed at supporting student-athletes and enhancing competitive success.
