Position:  Assistant Professor of Education (Full-time – Tenure Track)

Reports to: Jeanie Prall, Department Chair

Position Summary:   ÌÇÐÄlogoÈë¿Ú invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Education, beginning August 2026. The successful candidate will contribute to the undergraduate and graduate programs through teaching, research, student advisement, and service to the College. The Education program prepares students for teacher certification in Pennsylvania.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Teach 4-5 undergraduate courses each semester. Courses may include Introduction to Early Childhood Education, Curriculum and Planning, ages 3 – 8, Child, Family and Community, Integrating the Arts, Developmental Assessment, Technology for Teachers, Classroom Management and related areas.
  • Contribute to curriculum development in alignment with PDE
  • Engage in scholarly activity and research in education or related
  • Advise and mentor
  • Serve on departmental and college-wide committees; attend faculty
  • Serve as Program Director for the Early Childhood Program, both Associate’s and Bachelor’s degree.
  • Assist with required PA Department of Education

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Education, Education Technology, Curriculum & Instruction or closely related field (Ph.D. or ABO preferred).
  • Instructional II Teaching Certificate in Early Childhood, PreK- grade 4 (preferred) or Elementary Education, K – grade 6.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years classroom teaching experience in early childhood PreK – grade 4 or elementary education, K- grade Teaching experience should be within the past 1O years.
  • Be willing to teach classes face to face, synchronous remote and online (with training).
  • Record of, or potential for, scholarly research and professional

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching as the instructor of record in college education
  • Proven ability to teach a broad range of topics in
  • Experience integrating technology into teaching and using technology-supported
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to fostering inclusive learning
  • Experience working with diverse student populations

Skills and Abilities:

  • Be willing to teach classes face to face, synchronous remote and online (with training).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills necessary.
